Barista Training

Level 2 Qualification Barista Skills

City & Guilds

At StaintonWard we are keen that you are able to make the very best out of the equipment we provide.

We are, therefore, delighted to provide barista training through our partners at Hull College who are now delivering the following training course at the renowned Charlottes Restaurant facility.

The course is available to all but is ideal for Owners and Managers seeking to enhance their own skills, provide new ideas for their outlet and gain a platform suitable from which to train their own staff.

Introduction
A vocationally related qualification designed to meet the needs of those who work or want to work as Baristas in the hospitality sector. It will allow you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression.

Entry Requirements
No specific skills or knowledge are required to participate in the course but it is helpful to have access to an espresso machine and grinder or other equipment as necessary in order to practice drinks production in your own time.

Course Content
The course will contribute to the knowledge and understanding required to work within a Baristas environment. This will include learning:

  • Where the products come from and some of the processes they go through
  • What equipment to use and how to clean and maintain this equipment
  • Identifying a range of beverages and building techniques
  • How to serve customers

Assessment
There is a practical assignment and a short answer question test.

Progression
The course is an ideal precursor to employment or as a lead in to other City & guilds qualifications such as Level 1 N/SVQ in Hospitality or Level 2 N/SVQ in Food and drink Service.

The course is run over two full days and is validate by the City & Guilds body.
